Kula Kamala Foundation & Yoga Ashram is seeking a positive, happy, enthusiastic, service oriented Kitchen Intern who is dedicated to supporting, producing and providing nourishment that is inspired, prepared and served with loving-kindness. Our kitchen is dedicated to vegan/vegetarian gluten-free offerings and the yogic principle of ahimsa (non-harming). This intern will work with and support the kitchen manager/chefs in preparing buffet style dishes and desserts for our Community Meal offerings, our upcoming Pay-What-You-Can cafe, as well as supporting special events. This intern should be easily able to hold space for students, faculty and staff and juggle multiple demands, including filling in in additional areas if needed. Please note the kitchen is a place free of gossip and one where the tone and quality of peace are foundational.
This position is primarily responsible for prepping, cooking, baking, gardening, and cleanup.
Preferred existing experience:
Culinary School Student or Graduate or completion of certificate program desired
Experience with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan
Must be efficient, and show responsibility in the kitchen
Complete appropriate food safety certifications (if necessary)

A minimum commitment of one year depending on the position.
A minimum weekly schedule of 35 hours.
Room and board, semi private, are provided.
Access to classes and weekend workshops when off hours.
Training and support for developing skills in your respective position.
Earn credits toward professional level trainings offered by Kula Kamala Foundation
